Healthy Food
Early in our married years we yearned to stay healthy and fit. We both had many years of rigorous exercise under our belt so we thought that eating the way we were used to was, for the most part, fine.
Then we started finding out more about what we ate like the effects of artificial preservatives, bleached foods, hydrogenated oils, MSG, high fructose corn syrup, and whole grains stripped of it’s bran and germ just to name a few.
Is Everything We Eat Really That Bad for Us?
It seemed like everything we enjoyed eating or knew how to make wasn’t good for us. Or was it?
Where Do We Begin?
Each new bit of information we learned about our favorite foods sometimes overwhelmed us. The Lord gave us grace to implement what was right for our family a little at a time.
People often ask us where they should begin. That all depends on each person’s commitment and motivation to reach a specific goal.
Through the pages on this website, we can share what we’ve done to “ease” into the transition of eating food without white flour, sugar, the use of a microwave and into a lifestyle of eating whole grains, real meats, and fresh food.
Delicious and Good for You
When most people picture “healthy food” they often think of thoughts of super dense dry and tasteless bread someone’s thawed out from the freezer section of a health food store. Other times it could be the look of frankenfoods, that borrow the names of real food, only to try to taste like the real food that’s supposed to be bad.
God’s Gift
We have found that our great Creator has blessed us with many things for our enjoyment and health from raw honey to fresh oregano to sea salt and fresh raw milk.
Not only do they taste wonderful but also contain a lot of beneficial properties such as antibacterial, antiviral, anti fungal properties to having trace minerals and key vitamins our bodies need and crave for.
Better than Gourmet
Healthy food does not have to taste bland or bad. It takes practice and experimentation. It might not always taste like gourmet food but it can.
